My Journey Forward
Throughout my career, I developed and implemented sales strategies, working with corporations to create successful paths. When the pandemic hit, I chose to refocus on my family, stepping into full-time motherhood. Beyond work, I’ve proudly served as a Commissioner for the City of Tempe and as Board President of a nonprofit supporting schoolchildren.
Life brought its challenges—my health declined, and my child faced seizures. During this time, I found solace in DIY projects and rediscovered my passion for creativity, while also refreshing my skills with technology and business courses.
Now, with my kids growing older, I’m excited to explore new opportunities while staying deeply involved in my local neighborhood’s growth. Whether it’s DIY projects or leadership roles, I’m finding fresh ways to contribute to my family and beyond.

Putting the Power
Managing my family’s medical challenges while the world was shut down changed my life. The stress triggered my body to flare; which at times can leave me unable to walk. I was overwhelmed and was in emergency need of relief. I was used to being the STRONG one, the active one; always moving, always dancing. It was depressing being exhausted and bed-bound.
As an analyst, I began seeking refuge with knowledge when my body failed me. I researched how to use the power tools I had at home, studied web development, went to therapy, and volunteered in my community. I used my new skills to design co-working spaces at home, encouraging my family to flourish.
Using my own hands to build something new has been empowering! I’m discovering new ways to show up as my best self.

Behind the scenes, I am a busy mom trying to balance family-life and exploring opportunities. I find creative ways to overcome obstacles. Living with chronic pain limits my mobility, forcing me to use alternative tools in my toolkit! Many times I failed and could not figure out how to start. Challenged, I started capturing my journey and am now sharing it with the world as @myrna_renovates on my blog and social channels. I hope to inspire others while I continue exploring!
